Jeffrey Toobin was a respected lawyer, writer and legal analyst. He’d worked extensively in the legal profession, written several books on high profile court cases, including Patty Hearst and the SLA, Oliver North, the Unabomber and OJ Simpson, among others. In 2002, he became the senior legal analyst on CNN, a post he would hold for 20 years. With one notable interruption:
On October 19, 2020, he was seen masturbating while on a work Zoom call – he had mistakenly thought that his camera was off. He was suspended or fired from most of his jobs, although most of them he would eventually be restored to. Toobin has been humble and open about the incident, making no attempt to deny or minimize his actions.
