The sixth and final wife of Henry VIII, Catherine Parr’s most notable legacy was convincing Henry to restore his daughters (Mary, with his first wife, Catherine of Aragon; and Elizabeth, with his second wife, Anne Boleyn), to the Royal succession (although male primogeniture meant that although much older, they fell behind their brother Edward in the line of succession). She also wrote a series of devotionals that were influential on the development of the still-young Anglican church.
Catherine was 31 when she married Henry, and had been married twice before – after Henry’s death, she would marry a fourth time.
